Well, this was quite a surprise, something that we would like to see Samsung do. Nokia Vice President of Markets, Anssi Vanjoki, admitted that the N97 was a
“tremendous disappointment in terms of the experience quality for the consumers…”
It really takes a lot of guts for such a massive company to admit to failing on a product like this. The N97 is arguably Nokia’s flagship device, an expensive investment for consumers. It’s much like the Samsung i8910, it too is a flagship device burdened with some serious problems. Samsung has not admitted to anything, they’ve only released half baked updates that fail to address the major problems. By admitting to these problems, nothing much changes; it’s just the fact that they acknowledge that there is a problem. That has made me respect Nokia more and I would be more willing to invest in devices from a company that admits when it’s wrong. Video from All About Symbian after the break.
