A screen cap of my report in the works
A few corrections have been made, some people picked up a few typos and stuff. This is the last report. The journey ends here.. I’ve worked really hard to deliver on this report but now I have to move on to other things. Three weeks in the making and countless hours of work. I really hope this pays off, I put my heart and soul into it. At the end of the day, the situation is out of my hands, its up to Samsung. I will continue to update on the progress the report has made but unless something really big happens, this report is final. Thanks to everyone for the support, it has been a great journey and learning experience for me.
So here’s the press coverage so far for the petition and report:
- Engadget Mobile: Wronged i8910 buyer prepares doctral-quality thesis on issues
- Samsung Omnia HD Blog: Samsung i8910 owner preps 25-page quality control report
- GSM Arena: Report on the i8910 Omnia HD points out its flaws
- All About Symbian: Samsung i8910 HD: Miscellaneous Musings
- 8910.cz: 20 years after a general strike against Samsung
- Omnia HD Users: Petition for Samsung to improve i8910 Omnia HD Firmware
Yup, the petition and reports are all over the place too, like Twitter, Digg, Facebook etc and the stories from the above have been recycled by several blogs. So for now, that’s what I’ve done with the first 3 weeks of my summer amongst other things.. Gotta keep it moving!

I hope that the petition to improve OS or migrate to other OS for samsung i8910 HD will be granted. I’m one of the users of i8910 HD. I’m loving it actually except for minor issues but it’s ok. I’ll be more grateful if Samsung continues to provide software updates. The possibility of installing other smartphone OS like Android in the future will even be better. Actually, my main reason for choosing i8910 HD over other smartphones like iphone is the hardware specs, its really top notch. OS is just secondary consideration for me but it will be great if Samsung will go for Android for future Omnia HD.

Thanks for all your effort, I have written a letter to samsung HQ’s in Australia listing my own issues with their behavior, when I have a response ( maybe that should be IF I get a response ) I will provide some info here, I have told them depending on their response ( or not ) I’m going to make a complaint to consumer affairs in this country, and I might add references to your comprehensive report and incredible effort that has added to the strength of a complaint of DECEPTIVE MARKETING FOR for example from your report:.….
Whatever became of all the demos shown back in February at the Mobile World Congress?
These are the kind of demos that led us to believe the phone was going to be great but almost a year on, there’s nothing.5.0 No Applications Store support
The initial press releases for the Samsung Apps Store (http://samsungapps.com/) claimed that the store was going to be for the i8910 [3] [8]. The video advertisement for the store even features a user shopping for apps in the store on the i8910.7.17 WMV/WMA codec support
Users have noted support for WMV and WMA was listed but is currently not present in our devices.8.1 Video editing
According to the specifications sheet on the Samsung website [12] video editing is supported. Thanks again..I check your site daily
